2023. 02. 08 kiwp
On July 12th, 2022, Korean Institute for Women and Politics held a special lecture celebrating the organization¡¯s 33rd Anniversary.  The event was held at the National Press Club in Seoul.  Prof. Hyungjoon Kim of Myungji University analyzed the results of the  June 2022 local elections and provided certain implications of these results.  He mentioned that the male-dominated nomination policy reduced the ratio of women to men, and thereby further hampered gender equality.  This, he claimed, underscores the importance of maintaining an election structure where fair competition is the norm.

Mr. Ilyoon Kim, president of the Parliamentarian Society of the Republic of Korea, provided a congratulatory message.  This was followed by input from Dr. Baeyong Lee, Ms. Guemhee Yang, and Dr. Jungsook Seo. More than 70 people, including the Boards of Directors of KIWP,  members of the National Assembly, and the heads of several women`s organizations, attended.  A satisfying and joyful time was had by all.
